About this series

I’ve enjoyed landscape painting throughout my career as an Artist. My landscapes, much like my figure paintings, tend to reveal an inner longing, and I seek subject matter that evokes a sense of nostalgia. I spent the summer of 2006 studying allaprima painting on the Amalfi Coast. It was there that I created a series of paintings of clotheslines within the alleyways of Sorrento. I was drawn to how the soft, colorful clothes contrast with the neutral-toned, decaying walls. My more recent landscapes are painted in the studio from my own reference photos.
